Why managers need to be a jack of all trades?

Hello Everyone:)

Its been a year since I blog.As the title of the post says,its going to be related to some managerial talk and need to be known by everyone.

Everyone wish to be successful to be in their career.But,to be successful,how can we stand out the crowd and reach the pinnacle.We need these attitude to be inbuilt to wire up in career.

Enthusiastic,Communication,Lateral thinking,Leadership and learning skills are essential to reach the top.

Down the lane,years will roll down and as a programming developer you may be matured enough to be a Delivery Manager or Project Manager(PM).But when we look at the traits of a successful manager - it is a simple one-liner.PM should be a jack of all trades.Because PM should touch base with onshore,offshore and Business teams and should know the in-out of each of the process so that he will think from other people's shoe before taking any decision.

And this whole knowledge helps in negotiating better way and if a PM is technically skilled,it would be helpful for the team as PM can understand the difficulty/issues the team is facing and can lend out the suggestion to proceed further and complete the task as planned.

Clear communication is an essential trait should be etched in PM's DNA or PM can implant the same if he/she doesn't possess by birth.Anything in this world can be learnt and imbibed within ourselves if we put proper effort.

PM can guide and lead multiple teams by standing as a role model.For that,he/she should be a jack of all trades and lead the team in a successful way.
